    Up for consideration, I have a lower unit removed from a 1999 135 HP Optimax. Its standard rotation. The gear oil was dark and not milky. There were no signs of excessive metal shavings. This is for an XL shaft motor. This will fit a wide range oy years and models. If your motor has the same driveshaft spline count it should work.
