G028  A very rare China 1906 China Sinkiang ration Gold 2 Mace PCGS AU DETAILS. L&M-1050, Y-9.1. This coin listed on Chang Fundation page 32#10.  Any coins listed on this book are consider very rare (photo 7, 8).  As the book pointed out the then Sinkiang Administrator Wang Shu Tan petitioned the emperor for permission to mint gold coins locally because of the frequent delays in the delivery of army pay from neighouring provinces.  The minting lasted only four months and only about 5,000 gold Tael were minted into the denomination of 1 mace and 2 mace coins for the purposes of military and local payments.  I believe less than 10 such gold coin exists today. Any China gold coin collector should really think about getting this coin.  As I said this in many of my rare coin listings; once this coin is sold and you miss it, you will not be able to find another one or even if you can find it you will have to pay much higher price for it.  On 10-21-2021 Shanghai auction one PCGS ms63 sold for RMB 1518,000, about USD 237,187. See the last photo. There are only 5 such coin graded by PCGS.
