Dick Hargraves designed and printed this first race poster.
The first Human-Powered Speed Championships were in 1975. Unfortunately,
the organizers had to initiate the IHPVA in 1976 due to
Guinness not recognizing
their human-powered speed records, as they were not sanctioned by an official
organization. So, they formed one, the IHPVA:
International Human Powered
Vehicles Association. L
ater, in 1979 and 1980, Guinness finally printed their records.
The IHPVA is still going still going strong today.
